"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise." -Psalm 51:17.
Brought beneath the cross and in the sight of the crucified Savior,
the heart is broken,
the spirit is melted,
the eye weeps,
the tongue confesses,
the bones that were broken rejoice,
and the contrite child is once more clasped in his Father's forgiving, reconciled embrace.
"He restores my soul,"
I pray,
for more loveee and compassion in my heart for your people.
Give me a pure heart.
A broken spirit(cause me to yield to you) and a contrite(humble,repentent) heart.
One that is after you.
